Minecraft Celebrates April Fools’ Day with Poisonous Potatoes and Health Bar on Official Website
Mojang Studios is getting in the spirit of April Fools’ Day with a quirky addition to their official Minecraft website. Players visiting the site today are greeted with a health bar and a scattering of poisonous potatoes.
These aren’t just any ordinary potatoes – by clicking on them, players can virtually devour them, causing their health bar to take a hit and turn a sickly yellow-green. Consuming enough poisonous potatoes will eventually lead to a Minecraft-themed death screen, complete with an Elder Guardian’s ghost and a playful message: “You awoke the Toxifin.”
Don’t worry, there are no permanent consequences here. A respawn button will simply refresh the page and restore your health bar to full.
For those who prefer a traditional website experience, Mojang has thoughtfully included a button on the left-hand side to disable the entire April Fools’ feature.
This isn’t the first time Mojang Studios has gotten creative for April 1st. In the past, they’ve introduced unique features like joke updates and tweaks to the official game launcher.
