Sizzler, the beloved family restaurant chain that closed its doors in Australia in 2020, is making a triumphant return – but only for one night. On July 15, 2024, Sizzler will open a pop-up restaurant in Brisbane, giving Australians a chance to relive the nostalgia and indulge in the chain’s iconic menu items once again.[1]
The one-night-only event is being organized by a group of Sizzler enthusiasts who have been campaigning for the brand’s revival since its closure. “Sizzler holds a special place in the hearts of so many Australians,” said event organizer, Sarah Wilkins. “We wanted to give people the opportunity to experience that magic one more time.”[1]
The pop-up will feature a full Sizzler menu, including fan favorites like the Sizzler Cheese Toast, the Sizzler Salad Bar, and the famous Sizzler Sundae Bar. Guests will also be able to enjoy the chain’s signature hospitality, with servers in the iconic Sizzler uniforms and the familiar Sizzler jingle playing in the background.[1]
Tickets for the event sold out within minutes of being released, underscoring the enduring popularity of the Sizzler brand. “It’s been incredible to see the level of excitement and nostalgia surrounding this event,” Wilkins added. “Sizzler was more than just a restaurant – it was a place where families and friends came together to create lasting memories.”[1]
While the pop-up is a one-time affair, the organizers are hopeful that it will reignite discussions about the potential for a permanent Sizzler revival in Australia. “If the response to this event is any indication, there’s clearly still a strong demand for Sizzler,” Wilkins said. “We’re hopeful that this could be the first step towards bringing the brand back for good.”[1]
